Ruth Roman

  Ruth Roman, born Norma Roman on December 22, 1922 - September 9, 1999, was an American actress on stage, film, and on television.



 



 Roman was able to move to Hollywood after performing a variety of performances on the stage in the East Side. Before she was chosen for the lead part in the western Harmony Trail (1944), as well as the title role in the film serial Jungle Queen (1945), she was cast in a variety of uncredited roles. They were her first film credits performances.



 



 Roman first was seen in the title role in the film as Belle Starr's daughter (1948). Her first big success came in The Window (1949), and she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as New Star of the Year as an actress for her role in Champion (1949). She was an actor on Warner Bros. contract actress during the 1950s. She starred in several films, including the Alfred Hitchcock thriller Strangers on a Train (1951).
